About Us

Namaskar,

My name is Bratati Saha, and I am and artist, educator, and performer of the Indian classical dance, Kathak.
I am the founder of Arpan Dance Academy, a school affiliated with the Pracheen Kala Kendra University of Fine Arts.
Our vision spread the culture of classical Indian arts across audiences worldwide.

I began learning Kathak at the age of three under​ Guru Madhumita Roy and Guru Santosh Chatterjee, and later had the privilege to learn from the great Pandit Birju Maharaj. Earning a Double Bachelor degree in Dance, I've performed at many worldwide venues and events.
I believe Kathak is a form of self-expression. As dance is one of the many advanced forms of universal communication in it exquisite linguistics of performance recital. Today, the art form of Indian classical dance serves as the basis of the spread of cultural ideas across audiences worldwide while maintaining their traditional roots and ethnicities. 

But all the same, there is much more to be accomplished and needed to develop the form of dance.
